Torre Orsaia
Torre Orsaia is an agricultural town surrounded by age-old olive groves. When the Norman armies led by Robert Guiscard plundered the Gulf of Policastro, people fled the coastal towns and some found refuge here, in the area known at the lime as Turrės Ursajae. The municipality includes the two suburbs of Borgo Cerreto - where visitors can admire the old Palazzo Donnabella and Castel Ruggero, a name probably deriving from the Castrum Rogerii, the military camp established here by the Great Count Roger I during his war against the Count of Laurito. Among the many historical buildings of the town are the neo-gothic Church of the Immacolata, and the Chapels of Annunziata, San Rocco and Madonna delle Grazie.
