Noitour
Associazione Naturalistica Culturale
Noitour is a cultural naturalistic association that has the purpose to promote the tourist development of the National Park of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano. It is located in Agropoli, in the province of Salerno, at 50 Km from the chief town. A well-known seaside resort of the Cilento coast, Agropoli is a charming town with a medieval core set on a high promontory overlooking the gulf of Salerno and Capri and topped by a Saracen castle. At just 3 Km from the famous Greek town Paestum, Agropoli is the ideal base for visiting the surrounding area: to north the towns Amalfi, Positano, Vietri on the sea, Pompeii, Ercolano and the city Naples are at most at one hour and half’s drive by car; while Salerno can be reached in 45 minutes. To South, along the coastline, Velia, with its ruins of the Greek settlement, surely merits a visit. A little further on are the famous beach of Palinuro and Marina of Camerota. At about 30 km northeast of Agropoli, on the river Sele, there is the Oasi Naturalistica di Persano; at few kms further on the two cave systems Grotte di Pertosa and Grotte di Castelcivita, the Certosa di San Lorenzo, also known as Certosa di Padula, a vast and impressive 14 th-century monastery, the old abandoned village Roscigno and, not far from there, the river Calore, where otters may be met. To Southeast, there are uncontaminated little explored inland areas such as Vallo della Lucania, Ceraso, Novi Velia, Moio of the Civitella, Stio, Stella Cilento, Montano on Antilia, Laurito, Rofrano, Roccagloriosa, Centola, San Mauro La Bruca, and Torre Orsaia, (chief town on the river Bussento, which is rich in splendid gorges and inlets and where it is possible to canoe) Morigerati, Caselle in Pittari, Scario and Sapri.
