Felitto
FelittoThis town is perched on a rocky hill rising against Monte Faito from which it is separated by the bed of the river Calore. The name Felitto v, probably derived from the Greek Phiulatto (meaning "to watch" or "to control”) and indeed no name could be more appropriate for this town endowed with 13 towers in the surrounding walls and a castle 25 metres high. The town is accessible by way of a medieval bridge across the river Calore and the medieval atmosphere continues inside the borgo with its narrow streets and quirky system of arches and blind alleys. The town also hosts some elegant aristocratic palaces and the beautiful historic church of Assunta.
