Buonabitacolo
The town was founded in 1333 by Guglielmo Sanseverino, count of Marsico. He named the town Buonabitacolo because of its and fine location, far from the insalubrious swamps of the Vallo di Diano area. The peculiar pattern of the town, split on two levels has survived to this day. In the lower part is the baroque chapel Santa Maria degli Angeli, while the 18th century church of santissima Annunziata is in the tighter part of town. Worth mentioning here are also the beautiful stuccos and frescoes of the Chappell dedicated to San Domenico, and the Carthusian building know as la Grancia where visitors can admire precious stone carvings
