Santa Marina
Santa Marina lies at the foot of Mount Tempone, dominating the Golf of Policastro. The municipality of Santa Marina also includes the little suburb of Policastro Bussentino, a small tourist port that developed over the ruins of the Greek settlement Pixus, founded in 471 BC and subsequently renamed Buxentum by the Romans. The loc, church of Santa Croce still holds the ancient coat of arms of the powerful Carafa-Spina family.
