Sant'Arsenio

Most of the town is on a plain white a small part of it rises up the slopes of a hill facing the Apennines that is dose lo the Vallo di Diano. Like many other towns in Vallo di Diano. Sant'Arsenio has developed from an ancient Byzantine monastery during the 8th 9th century. Initially belonging to the Abbey of the Trinità in Cava de’ Tirreni; the town passed from hand to hand in the following centuries. the most important lords being the powerful family of Calà. Art lovers will be interested to visit the ardent town's Borgo Serrone with its 17th 18th century architectures such as the Church of the Santissima Annunziata. formerly run by the Benedictine monks of the Dioceses of Cava de' Tirreni
